How we think: Finder-First Phone Recovery — our design paradigm for how lost phones actually come home.
This site is run by the founder of UNTRAPD — solo operation, no team, no VC. Started November 2025 because the gap between "I lost my phone" and "someone found my phone but couldn't reach me" was bigger than any single app could fix on its own.
UNTRAPD has two layers:
The product layer is FINDERR — an Android app that turns your lockscreen into an ICE contact card with a QR code. Free. Install from Google Play, set it up in two minutes, forget about it until your phone goes missing. There's also a direct-flavor APK on this site with full SMS activation, gated by active Protection.
The community layer is what you'll read most of: the manifesto, the finder-first paradigm essay, the city guides, the lost-phone counselor. These exist because phone recovery is a design problem and a behavioral problem stacked on each other, and the design problem doesn't get solved by shipping more apps.
